Welcome

Asthma is a condition that affects the airways – the small tubes that carry the air in and out of the lungs. George Coller endured so much in his short life with the constant traumas of coping with his Asthma.

Eventually it all got too much for his little body and he passed away in his sleep. He was only three years old and his death was a needless tragedy.

The George Coller Memorial Fund is a registered charity and was launched in 2000. Its main purpose is to raise awareness about Asthma and to improve the healthcare provisions for all children suffering with the condition.

1,100,000 children living the UK receive treatment for Asthma.

Mountain Trek Fund Raiser

One of our helpers Betsie has set up a blog for fundraising for of all things a mountain trek! We asked her why she decided on this particular fund raising adventure...

Betsie said "After watching Chris Moyles climb Killamajaro then Fern Cotton trekking up Machu Picchu, I decided to take up this challenge for myself along with raising money for 'The George Coller Memorial Fund' Asthma Charity. Having asthma myself I am passionate about the charity... "

It is going to be a mighty challenge for Betsie but what a brilliant thing to do. If you would like to read more or, even better, sponsor Betsie on her trek up Machu Picchu please take a look at her blog by following this link: http://betsiemachu.blogspot.com/ "

Presenting Petition to the Prime Ministers Office

On May 4th 2010 we handed the petition in to the Prime Minister's offices at 10 Downing Street, specifically requesting that Emergency Asthma Kits be placed in all schools across the UK as a matter of urgency.

This petition looks to achieve that objective quickly, in order to support pupils and teachers in cases of Asthma. this will help towards making school a safer environment for everyone, especially our children.

We actually managed to get the amazing amount of 5333 signatures on the petition and we would like to sincerely thank everyone who took the time and the trouble to sign it.

We will keep you all updated with any news as and when we get it.

Our Patron: Andy Townsend

It was an honour and a privilege when I was asked to be patron of this fantastic charity, which has risen from the sad and tragic loss of one beautiful three-year-old boy, George Michael Steven Coller, who lost his fight against the harsh symptoms of Asthma.

Supporting the George Coller Memorial Fund can ensure that fewer parents experience that loss and that children from Britain and indeed around the world can be helped and saved from the traumas of the relentless conditions of Asthma.

Together we can continue to help eradicate the fears of Asthma and give young people with the illness a future that is bright – something that every young person deserves.
